Chalean Extreme Day 4 is Over!!

So I decided to do Chalean Extreme.  I am not sure if I will do the entire program but we will see.  So far I have done Burn Circuit 1 and 2.  Instead of Burn Intervals and Ab Burner I am doing the bonus workouts I have called Extreme Intervals and Extreme Core.  Extreme Intervals is super intense.  It uses a stability ball and my arms were so tired by the end from holding up the ball!  Tomorrow is Burn Circuit 3.  The good news with this workout is that you get 2 days off instead of 0-1!!  I took some measurements and checked my weight which I will post in a separate blog.  Can't believe I am going to put my weight online but oh well!

Kids are doing great.  Can't believe school year is half over!  Luckily they are doing great grade wise.  They seem to spend all their free time on the computers.  We also have 2 puppies!  Our yorkie-poo became pregnant and we gave 2 away but couldn't part with them all:(  My sister took one and we gave the other to  a nice family.  Working real hard on potty-training.  One of them is pretty good but the female is being stubborn.  Which is worse potty-training kids or dogs!?  Both are exhausting.  Took them all to church this morning, how stressful.  Its so hard keeping them quiet especially the 3 yro.  His brother took his spot on the pew while he was getting a book and yelled that's my seat!  And I mean yelled!  How embarassing.  I hear we may get some snow.  In the middle of watching Case 39 so better say goodnight.

Shakeology Versus Other Meal Replacements in Price

Shakeology cost is 119.95 for a 30-serving bag or 24-single serve packets.  Come in Chocolate or Greenberry.  Comes out to $3.99 or 4.99 depending on if you want a single serving packet.  HOWEVER, if you are a Beachbody Coach (you can sign up for this on my website at http://www.teambeachbody.com/gotitdone) you can get the same thing for 89.96 or 2.99/3.75 per serving.  Cheaper than going out for fastfood and just as filling and HEALTHY!  As a Beachbody Coach you get a 25% discount on all products including the amazing workout videos!  I will give more info on that in another blog and youtube video.

I did a search on Amazon for meal replacement and came up with a few.  There are some sale prices on items so not sure how long sales last or if they are on going.  I wasn't able to get the back of pkg. so not sure how it compares to Shakeology but I am positive that Shakeology has way more nutrients.

MET-Rx - 115.99 on sale for 59.89 for 18 servings which comes up to 6.44 or 3.33 depending on the sale.

LeanBody Shake 36.36 on sale for 25.97 for 16 servings which comes out to 2.27 for 1.62

LeanBody Carb Watchers Shake 129.99 on sale for 75.90 for 42 packets which comes out to 3.10 or 1.81.

MyoPlex Original Chocolate Formula in 12, 17 oz bottles.  51.00 on sale for 50.63 which comes out to 4.25 or 4.22

So as you can see the price is similar to other meal replacements.  The leanbody shake is cheaper but I doubt it has everything Shakeology does.  You may be able to go to the manufacturers website to check what is in each shake.  The others are all about the same or more.

P90X Week 2 Day 1!!!!! YEAH

Okay so I made it to week 2!!  I did take a couple days off for my poor body to mend!  I was so sore!  I am still a little sore but today was chest and back and ab ripper so no leg work!  I did pretty much the same as last week as for as repetitions go.  I should push myself harder on push-ups but it hurts!  And the pull-ups I am using a stool and should do more reps or rely less on the stool or at least try and get my chin above the bar.  I am still determined that I will get there by the end and at least be able to do one!  I think tomorrow I may do some measurements of my arms, legs, chest, waist, and hips.  I should have done this first but I didn't want to back out of doing the workout so had to jump head first.  The weight concerns me a bit.  I want to see the scale go down like everyone else but I am afraid it won't with the new muscle mass.  And I know that muscle weighs more than fat but that darn number on the scale is so irritating!  I wish I had more time to work in a little more cardio but not sure if I can.  I may try and do a short Turbo Jam workout so that I am doing cardio 3-5 days a week.  With my routine now I do plyometrics and kenpo once a week.  But kenpo isn't hardcore cardio.  But I do work up a sweat with the weight-lifting so I know I am doing something and my poor body thinks so too!

The kids did have school today.  Very little freezing rain.  It wasn't really slick at all when I took the youngest to preschool at 9 am.  It was probably worse lastnight since there was a semi wreck on I70.  Luckily he didn't hit anyone but blew a tire and tried to avoid hitting a car and struck the guardrail.  No one was hurt.  One of my twins had a dentist appointment after school for his braces.  He's only 7 but had a large gap in his teeth so we are getting it fixed now in hopes that he won't need them when he gets older but the dentist thinks he probably will, of course!  And you should have seen my 3 yro this evening.  I was doing the ab ripper routine and he was like, This is so Easy!!   Not, he just wasn't doing it right but he managed to wear himself out.  Time for bed for me.  Its already 10:30 which means I get 7 hours of precious sleep.  Hopefully I can get a little cat nap in tomorrow as I like to ready a little before bed.

About Me

Thought I would tell everyone a little bit about myself.  I am 37 years old, married, and a mother to five great kids.  I daughter and then 4 boys.  I have been through plenty of weight struggles throughout my adult life.  With my first 2 children I gained around 70 lbs with each child!!  And no, I didn't lose it all before I had the second so I was very obese.  I had thought about surgery to help but I wasn't overweight enough to have insurance pay.  So, I did it the hard way, EXERCISE!  I started pilates because it was the workout with the less physical impact.  Like I said, I was overweight and cardio wasn't my thing.  Pilates did the job and I started doing some cardio as I got smaller and was able to move.

After I lost all the weight from both the first 2 kids, I got pregnant with twins!  I was very concerned about gaining too much weight again.  I ended up getting a mild form of gestational diabetes and was put on a diet by a dietician.  Was the best thing my doctor could do for me!  I made myself stick to the diet and didn't gain near as much weight anywhere but my belly!  Which was huge!  After having the twins I was able to drop the weight pretty quickly.  And a few years later I got pregnant with our youngest son.  I again had the same weight concerns but I went back on the low calorie diet and managed to gain around 35 lbs.  Thank goodness!  This was also the year that my husband was activated for Army Reserves.  He ended up leaving a month after our son was born to Iraq and was gone for an entire year!  It was a hugely (is that a word?)  stressful time!  We didn't have any family in the area to help so my younger sister decided to move to help me out.  My family is all from Kansas and my husbands family lives in Nebraska.  Well, she ended up being diagnosed with breast cancer while she was here so went through chemo and double mascetomy and is now doing great!

While my husband was in Iraq, I did my first round of P90x.  I wanted to work of the baby weight and get in better shape.  I also wanted to surprise him when he got home and look great!  And I did!  It was a long year but having a goal helped.  It is something that I never want to go through again and can't imagine how other couple go through multiple tours of duty.

That about sums up my life and what I am trying to accomplish.  I am getting realllly close to turning 40 and would love to be in the best shape of my life!  Goodnight.

P90X Day 3-7

Well obviously I have been a little lazy with my blog!  Having a blog is so new to me that it is hard to remember to do it!  The kids ended up being home from school Tuesday and Wednesday because of the 6" of snow in the area.  So was a little busier than normal with everyone home and a sleepover on Tuesday.  But I did get my workouts in!!  I did Yoga X, and Leg & Back and Ab Ripper X.  I should have done Kenpo X yesterday but my legs and rear-end was sooo sore!!!  And still is!  Legs and Back kicked my butt, literally!  I don't think I could have managed the kicking involved in kenpo when I could barely walk!  I do plan on doing the Kenpo tomorrow because it is actually one of my favorite workouts.  Hopefully I won't be so sore in the morning.  Had a hard time kneeling at church this morning for communion!  Thank goodness there is a rail to help boost me up!  P90x is one of those workouts that is a challenge that I am determined to finish just like I did the first time.  Insanity was the other workout I had to finish.  Took me a few tries but I did it!  And got great results!  Hoping with P90x I get more toned.  Really need help on my thighs!  And I am hoping to get rid of my love handles!  They are so stubborn!  Didn't get rid of them with Insanity so trying with P90x.  From what I have read, quitting caffiene would help get rid of them but I think I am a lost cause when it comes to getting rid of my soda.  I did see an exercise on Dr. Oz that I may do.

Tomorrow the kids do not have school to celebrate Martin Luther King Day.  And we may get some freezing rain as well.  Can't wait till the warmer weather comes.  We live in a super small 3 bedroom house and as you may be able to imagine with 7 people living here, there is NO PRIVACY!  I love it and I hate it.  Hopefully someday we can get a bigger home!

On a business note:  If anyone is interested in becoming a Beachbody Coach and getting great discounts on products and make money.  Check out my websites or drop me an email.  You can also go to http://www.platinumpresenters.com/ and click on Business Presentations and watch a video about this great company!  Then come back to my site to sign up!  This is an awesome opportunity.  And if you are looking for a great meal replacement/shake, check out shakeology.  It is an amazing supplement and taste great!  I would also love to get to know more people via facebook so check it out.  Thanks a bunch for my putting up with my business plug;-)

P90X Day 2

Boy were my shoulders and abs sore this morning!  Now I am nervous because tomorrow is shoulders and arms and ab ripper again.  I did the plyometrics today.  Not too horrible.  Except for rock star hops and jump knee tuck.  I do okay unless I have to jump and bring both knees up.  Really hard for me.  I remember when I did my first round of p90x, I barely made it through this work out at all.  Thanks to Insanity, I at least have some endurance.  And speaking of Insanity.  Shaun T was on "The Doctor's" the otherday!  How cool is that!  Sometimes I feel weird being in to the Beachbody workouts because I never was an athletic person or liked to work-out.  I don't know if it is me recently signing up as a coach or just knowing the people from the videos.  Tony Horton is amazing!  He is such an awesome motivator, same as Shaun T and Chalene.  My 3 favorites.  And with being a coach I get an awesome discount off the products.  Still trying to build my business.  Been a little lazy:(  But starting to get into it.  Not much else with the workout today.  Plyo is super hard, a lot of jumping, jump squats, leapfrog....  More nervous for Yoga in a couple days.  I really dislike the yoga.  Maybe because that workout is so long and is really difficult.  It doesn't look that hard when you watch it except for the poses.  You need a lot of muscle strength though to keep the poses.

So turned on the radio this morning to check to see if there was school, and woopee no school!  Was annoyed though because I should have gotten a text.  Signed up for these text alerts but didn't get.  So I checked it today and made sure I was subscribed, I am.  And did finally get a text this evening about not having school again tomorrow.  I had to go out late afternoon because I was all out of peanut butter.  And yes, peanut butter is very important!  Especially since the kids will be home again tomorrow.  And I had no chips.  I thought the main roads would be cleaned but they weren't.  All snow packed.  I was regretting going about half way to walmart and wished I would have gone to the grocery store about 5 blocks away instead of going across town.  All to save a few dollars!  Fish-tailed once at a stop light.  Just a little but still freaked me out a little becaue I didn't step hard on the gas or anything.  I just couldn't move!  Tried to stop as little as possible after that.  Maybe just slowed down enough to stop at the stop signs and make sure know one was coming.  I honestly worry more about others driving more than my own.  I was driving super slow and was passed by a few people.  I think I kept a steady 20 mph in a 35 zone.  And made sure to stay a safe distance from others so I wouldn't rear end them but I can't say that others do the same.  Luckily I made it home in one piece and no accidents.  I worry about my husband who drives 35 miles to work.  He says the roads are still snow packed.  Luckily he has 4 wheel drive but that doesn't mean someone else does.

Well I'm in the middle of watching Robin Hood, I can't say that I am that into it.  I think I like the one with Kevin Costner better.

P90X Day 1

Last fall I did the Insanity workout by Beachbody.  Completed the entire 60 days and then took a break from exercising for a few weeks.  BIG mistake!!!   So with a new year I decided to P90x for the second time!  Set my workout clothes out lastnight so when I got up, I wouldn't back down.  When I was doing Insanity I got up at 5:30 to workout because that was when my daughter has to be woken up for school.  Today I was a little slow moving!  For me, exersing is hard!  With being a stay-at-home and a husband who leaves for work at 5:00 pm and doesn't get home till 7:00 am; I am left with the majority or all of the work around the house and activities the kids are involved in.  So getting a work-out in is hard for me because it seems I am always tired.

I did chest and back and the ab ripper x today.  Tony Horton is an awesome motivator but I wasn't at my best today!  But that's what I get for not working out for a month.  When it came down to push-ups and pull-ups I was ok.  My goal was to do at least one more rep for the 2nd round, and I DID!  This time I am trying to use a pull-up bar instead of bands.  My 7 year old son can do a pull-up but I CAN'T!  I admit, I used a stool to help me but hopefully by the end I can do at least one without the stool!  Ab ripper x is not one of my favorite ab workouts, I may do Shaun T's ab workout that came with Insanity for the ab work instead.  Good news is that I got it done and now I don't have to worry about working out till tomorrow!

On the family front.  It is snowing!  I don't think it is that bad out but I haven't gone out it in.  Kids are getting out of school and hour early and no Girl Scouts tonight.  My 12 year old daughter stayed home today because she claims to be sick:)  She got sick one time lastnight and thought she should stay home.  Seems better now.  Has had a bag of microwave popcorn and cereal and hasn't gotten sick.  Now my 3 yro son decided that he wanted to play in the snow in his pajamas!  He looks sweet with big brown eyes but he doesn't have me fooled!  At least he had footy pjs on and put on his brothers crocs.  He's a sneaky little thing!  Don't think I have mentioned...I have one daughter who is 12, and four boys 10, 7 yr twins and a 3 yro.  Trust me, there is never a dull moment!!  Till tomorrow.  I think Plyometrics is on the workout schedule, lord help me:-P
